The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has appointed René Lammers, Ph.D., as the new executive vice president and chief research and innovation officer, effective October 1, 2025. Lammers will report directly to Stéphane de La Faverie, president and CEO, and will be instrumental in advancing the company’s innovation strategy and scientific excellence.

In his role, Lammers will oversee global research and innovation efforts, focusing on product and clinical innovation, regulatory strategy, and upstream technologies. His mission includes enhancing performance, quality, safety, and sustainability across Estée Lauder’s brands, including MAC and Clinique. Lammers aims to foster collaborations with academic institutions and strategic partners in biotechnology to drive innovations that align with consumer trends.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Lammers previously served as executive vice president and chief science officer at PepsiCo. His leadership is expected to deliver rapid, on-trend product innovations while maintaining a commitment to scientific excellence. Lammers holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Delft University and has contributed significantly to the industry.

Stéphane de La Faverie expressed confidence in Lammers’ capabilities, stating that his leadership will enhance the company’s ability to deliver breakthrough products and innovate quickly across prestige price tiers.
