Sowvital, in collaboration with Scentmate by dsm-firmenich, has launched a new collection of hand creams inspired by orchard fruits. This innovative line combines fine fragrance with skincare, promoting a concept known as olfactory layering.
Olfactory layering involves blending multiple distinct fragrances on the skin to create a unique, personal scent. Research indicates that consumers are increasingly interested in products that enable them to explore their “olfactory identity” through the combination of creams, oils, or mists.
The hand cream collection, developed with fragrance consultant Isabelle van Ingen, aims to deliver high-quality hydration alongside luxurious scents. Siomara López, fragrance development manager at Scentmate, emphasized the immersive nature of the fragrances, stating that they aim to transport users to a sun-drenched orchard.
Available at Le Bon Marché, Lane Crawford, and Sowvital’s website, the collection features several distinctive fragrances:
- The Tomato Leaf: Notes of frosted mint, cassis berries, and blackcurrant.
- The Apple Orchard: Notes of pink rhubarb, gardenia, and cedarwood.
- The Pear Orchard: Notes of bergamot, Bartlett pear, and patchouli.
These fragrances are designed to redefine skincare rituals, placing the sense of smell at the forefront of the experience.
